Tri Kula Coaching
Tara has been an endurance athlete for over 15 years, competing in such diverse races and locations as the Providence Ironman 70.3, El Tour De Tucson century bike race, the Blackstone Valley Greenway Challenge and New York City Half-Marathon. Tara is a Certified USAT Level 1 triathlon coach, with experience in Sprint, Olympic and Half IM distances. Tara has practiced yoga extensively for six years prior to obtaining her RYT200 certification through Spirit Tree Yoga. Tara's practice is grounded in service, and her athletic career is marked by competition with and fundraising for a number of charitable causes, including the Danskin Women's Triathlon Series, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team In Training and Access2Adventure, a national organization dedicated toward promoting adventure sports for disabled athletes.

For 2010, Tara is continuing to offer a number of classes and workshops throughout Rhode Island, including Yoga for Athletes, Heated Vinyasa and and a fun Happy Hour class each Friday. She is continuing to coach beginning runners and triathletes and working hard as one of the founders and resident coach for the Triathlon Club of New England. Tara's prime motivation and greatest reward in coaching is seeing an athlete accomplish their goal, be it a personal best, Top 10 or just a finish.

As the future unfolds, Tara will continue to deepen her own yoga practice and expand her areas of knowledge as she pursues her 500 hour Certification. In addition to the 2010 Providence Half-Ironman, Tara will be competing in tris and road races throughout the year (when she's not leading post-race stretches or coaching her athletes) and hopes to build upon her multiple Top 5 finishes last year.

Tara's ongoing ambition is to continue her work with physically challenged athletes and begin coaching paratriathletes in future events. A trip to the USAT Paratriathlon National Championships in NYC might be the first stop...
